Hello world!
Greetings fellow watch enthusiasts!
Hi everyone! Some of you may know me from my ongoing television career, but for those who may not I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Tim Temple, and I have been in the video retail industry for almost 25 years. Watches have been a fascination for most of my adult life, so when the opportunity came about in 1998 to begin presenting watches via television in 1998 I jumped at the chance. That show started late night every Wednesday evening (1a eastern time) on ValueVision. I along with a guest were presenting antique watches at the time; of course we had no idea as to the size of the empire we were in process of creating.
That show continued to grow in success, thus garnering more airtime, which led to more success, and so on. ValueVision became ShopNBC, and I continued to host their watch program well into 2004. Subsequently I have built additional programs for WSS, ShopAtHome, and Jewelry Television. Research has taken me to 9 of the last ten Basel Watch Fairs and JCK Vegas events, as well as studying abroad in Switzerland, Russia, China, and Hong Kong.
I begin this blog in the hopes of being able to share both thoughts and reviews on individual watches and brands, as well as the industry at large. I hope you will enjoy your visit, and I invite you to bookmark it and participate as you would like.
Thank you for being part of the ongoing adventure in watches.
Most Sincerely,
Tim Temple

Hi Tim,

It was so great to see you back on TV tonight! My husband and I haven’t watched Jewelry Television since you left. My husband truly enjoys watch collecting, and I’m facinated with it myself. We’ll be looking forward to tuning in to all of your upcoming programs.

Hi Tim -
Great to see you again! I’m a long time fan of your watch shows and look forward to melting my credit cards with your help…!
All the best -
- Jay
Tim, My wife found you on Shop NBC when we were first dating, and as I had told her of my
fascination with wristwatches, you came up. I bought an Invicta Platinum Automatic from
you that night. It was the last one you had, black dial, briefcase, etc. I had signed up for
your newsletter, but then you disappeared. I laughed at some of your sales techniques,
like the soundproof booth for Elal Lalow(sp?), the boss of Invicta. What a hoot!
Tonight I fluked into seeing you on the Watch Show on JTV. I stepped up for the Xoskeleton
Tourbillon. So, I have snapped two high end, fabulous pieces from your deft, incisive,
informed, and in depth product knowledge. You really get into the details of the watches
in a way that shows your sincere enthusiasm for watches…and it is infectious!! I hope
that the ribbing you were taking from that brunette tonight was good natured. My wife
thought she was picking on you too much. She’s OK,I guess, but I like getting the
benefit of your knowledge and experience more than the hee haw. It’s great to see you
again! You are still the best at what you do,seriously.
Best,Steve Gentner,Portland,OR
Hi everyone! I want to thank all of you for both watching, and visiting this site. It is my hope that we can build this site into a friendly and informative place for watch enthusiasts. I thank all of you for your kind words and support. After all it is you that allows myself and the watch builders at large to do what we do. Very much appreciate your confidence; we won’t let you down!
Tim
hi Tim I am really glad to see you back on tv. Watching you on jtv was how I became a watch collector.I have not purchased anything from jtv since you left, that is until last night I bought xoskeleton superlative w/ black ip and saphires. I cannot wait to get this watch, When I first saw these watches when they first appeared on jtv I wasn’t convinced. This 2nd production just blew me away I accually had my eye on another watch on shopnbc the money I had put aside for that watch went for the xo OH WELL shopnbc better luck next time.I am looking forward to your future shows on jtv. Will be checking their schedule for the times. best of luck bob….ps. By the way it was very smart of you to bring Avi back with you she is agreat addition to the show
Hey Tim…Good to see you back…enjoyed the first show last night ..been lost without it these past few months..guess its time to add to the collection.. let us all know the plans for the future..
Bill
Hello Tim,
I was very glad to see you on the TV last night. You started me collecting 18 months ago during your last few months on Shop at HomeTV. You sold me the new XO Skeleton Superlative last night. I appreciate your description of all aspects of each watch you sell. I now have 160 watches in my collection. Please keep us informed as to where and when your next show will be presented.
All the best.

Hi Tim, It was really great to see you back on JTV. Look forward to your future shows. Is the Watch Commander in the plans because I like the Seapro line.
hi Jay! great stuff on the way, so dust off the cards. And thank you for the support!
hi Susan! thank you so much for the kind words, and the support! I look forward to your joining me with future shows!
Well thank you for choosing me over the competition lol I appreciate the vote of confidence, and you have made an outstanding choice in the Superlative! I agree with you that the 2nd generation is where XO really began to hit their stride, and am very confident that you will love the watch!
well, we can’t have you running around out there lost! It’s good to be back! There’s another show this coming Monday (April 6th) midnight east - 9p west; do hope you can join me for that. Other plans in the works, which I look forward to announcing soon!
hi Mark!
the greatest compliment I get in this biz is meeting a watch guy (or girl) that became such from watching a show I was doing, so thank you for sharing that. Very impressive collection, may I say, and I think you’ll really like the Superlative. I wear mine all the time; it’s an excellent choice!
Well always happy when a watchguy can involve romance into the show I appreciate that you have stuck with me for all of these years. The “brunette” (Avi) and I are good friends and I very much enjoy the rapport, so no worries there. Must say, you have made the premium choice with your tourbillon selection. I own one, and find it to be very accurate as well as obviously a showcase, given the Superlative case relation. Not to mention, getting the Swiss trained tourbillon tech to examine and calibrate the movement, much less at that price, makes it a must own. Thank you for the kind words; I appreciate your confidence and won’t let you down!
hi! thanks for the kind words. No plans with the WC as yet, but of course, who knows..
hi tim…I sent you a message yesterday . I foregat to let you know that my present most loved watch that I have purchased was also a watch from one of your previous shows It was the aviator wings of the motherland in russain red gold w/ moonphase This watch is absolutely incredible….Looking foreward to your show next monday….Thanks bobf
Tim,
Just wondering if you’ll have old favorites like Akribos/Craig Hester or Gevril on the new adaptation of the Watch Show on JTV?
am not sure about JTV as yet, but am working on some other projects that may very well include them, among others
hi Bob! I have one of those too, and absolutely love it! Excellent choice!
Other projects, possibly not JTV? Maybe another shopping network or back to your old home/SNBC?
well, I’m not sure that snbc is in play, but am definitely in discussions with networks
Other networks though? Perhaps QVC and maybe Renato/Daniel Mink?
Can’t really get into specifics, but good discussions have happened and there are some good things on the way
hi tim keep us informed on this forum of your plans with other networks so well be able to find you. I would definetely be looking foreward to that if you decide to go somewhere other than jtv I wish wish you well with whatever opportunity you decide to follow…..bobf
thank you, Bob. I plan on posting as soon as there is solid news. Obviously would rather do that than discuss plans prior to their being finalized.
No no no, Tim! We all want ’speculation(s)’!!!
All in good time
The XOSkeleton is fabulous! I just got my Superlative and it is just stunning. The watch looks much better in the real thing. And it’s really a comfortable watch at its size.
I just got the Barracuda tonight as well. I like the way the metal curves. Looking forward to your future shows and please keep us posted on any updates. Good luck.
Tim,
Have you seen WatchKomrade’s show on the Russia2all.I think you and Craig a great together. I hope the two of you are going to be back on TV soon.
hi Phil!
yes I have and I think Craig is doing a great job. Am working on a project that I hope he can participate in; will of course announce when I know more
Steve.. two excellent choices there! I also own both and greatly admire them as well as very much enjoy wearing them
Tim, I am looking forward to getting my XO Tourbillon on Monday, the 13th. I was so happy
to see you on JTV again, and I was just trying to see when you were scheduled to be on
again and they don’t know. Why doesn’t JTV have you on with some regularity? I
WOULD like to be able to plan ahead to see you…and DVR recording you doesn’t help if
you have some killer deals…because I would lose out. Under that scenario, I never would
have gotten the Tourbillon! SO…, when ARE you next scheduled for JTV? Or are you going
someplace else?
hi Stephen!
I too am looking forward to you getting your tourbillon; am very sure you will love it. I own one too and it has performed brilliantly.
As to schedule, at the time of this writing am somewhat hampered as to what I can talk about, but am hoping to have a show announcement very soon. I agree that having a regularly scheduled show would be a blessing for those on both sides of the equation.
Thank you for the great note, and for your support!
Hey Tim, I’m very excited about your upcoming show announcement! I am praying it’s a show that I can get here on cable in NY. I’ll never forget when one day we just lost you on SAH-TV. My husband actually considered switching to Satellite just for your show!!! We hope Avi and Amber are able to join you, too.
hi! am not sure of cable vs satellite coverage I use dtv where I live and so far its been able to grab all of the shows.
Am really hoping for Avi and Amber as well; they are such a true joy to work with!
Hi Tim I just got my XO superlative today and it is everything you said it would be.I am definetly in the market for another one. By the way XO customer service is by far the best I ever had the pleasure of dealing with.I had a few questions about setting some of the complications and they could not have been more helpful…a very pleasant experience in deed. Keep us posted on your future watch shows.I trust your opinions on different watch brands. You have yet to steer me wrong…..bob
hi Bob! am so glad you love your Superlative! Am such a fan of XO product so am always gratified when another watch guy realizes why. Will let you know about the new shows the moment I do!
Tim,
Ive been a big fan for many many years, one question though- how do we sigh up for your newsletter? Its mentioned on your web page with no link.
Sincerly
Larry
Hi Tim!
You are missed- I was one who looked forward to those long watch shows!
I have to thank you for giving me so many years of education! I have been with you since 1999. I have collected many watches from your shows- 1st generation Gevril, 2 Chaumet’s, Concord, Ebel, Rotary (to name a few) and I even purchased your Croton sterling silver 2 time zone limited edition watch! I have enjoyed learning about Quinting and many other fascinating watches. You are THE original and BEST. I look forward to seeing you (somewhere on TV?) in the future, but for now I am happy that you can be found here! All the BEST! Corinne
Tim
I was scanning the chanels on my TV at 8:30 pm on Monday night, looking for anything interesting when i heard your voice before the picture came on. I found you on Gems tv channel 233 on Direct tv. I only caught about half the show but I was so glad to see you back on TV. I was not interested in any of the watches that were offered tonight, but I hope to see your presence more than once a week in the future. I would love to see more of the watches you offered in the previous shows with the last chanel you were on such as Sea pro, Onis, Oceanaut.
Tim, enjoyed your show on Gemstv. Good to know you will be on every Tuesday evening. I’m sure your followers would like to know about your new scheduled Tuesday evening shows. Look forward to seeing the great deals that you and Gemstv will be offering to its viewers. Much happiness to you.
Hay Tim, are going to do more updates on this website. I been waiting for the part II interview with Creig. Take care hope to see more stuff later.
